Facing a move to the next school can be daunting one; not only for the child but also for those who care for them. 'Look at Me, I'm Growing Up' chart prepares young children facing that change, giving them an understanding of what is expected of them. It also supports and gives guidance to the parents and carers detailing how important their role is during this time.
The activities include: I am clean and tidy, I have eaten my fruit and vegetables, I have drunk lots of water, I have shared nicely and taken my turn, I have dressed myself, I have practised writing my name and I have done what I’ve been asked to do.
On the chart children record their achievements with coloured numbered stickers. Simple goals can be set to encourage the children to complete a row of 10. This method of reward also helps with colour and number awareness.
